Our Olive Grove

Welcome to Nanima’s olive grove. Nestled in Umbria, among Etruscan caves, rolling green hills, and lush forests, just outside Monteleone d’Orvieto, you’ll find Nanima’s ancient olive grove. When we first moved to Italy, we had a view of this old olive grove from the house we rented. I became curious about the ancient trees standing on the hillside, stretching out their branches as if they wished to tell a story. Their spear-shaped leaves seemed to whisper of centuries of sun and rain, and I couldn’t help but wonder what secrets they carried. I remember the first time we walked through the olive grove, it was at the end of the summer. A sense of magic lingered between the trees, as if the earth itself held stories waiting patiently to be heard. I marveled at the small white flowers—at their vibrant scent and sweetness, at how they almost trembled with life. And when the first tiny olives formed and turned pale green, I felt a childlike joy. The seasons shifted, and with them the olives changed in color and expression. At the same time, a longing grew within me—a quiet desire to care for this living history, to let the grove keep speaking, and to create new experiences to share with others who appreciate the wordless language between human and nature.
